Rory, When I read your first email I didn't respond but I did order a copy of
his book which I am looking forward to receiving and reading. Thanks again to
Margaret for hosting us at your home. (I forgot to bring you your cheese cutter
but will return it to you another time.) This was a very productive morning.

Do you recall we had a brief exchange regarding how we "thank" Jon?
He already told me no thanks is required, but hey, what Jon did will change a
bunch of lives and he had total control over those funds.
I wasn't joking when I suggested something about his book. Jon is not well,
and is spending his time on something he loves, which is finishing his second
novel. It would be very touching and personal if we could make a gesture
related to that.
No one responded before. I think there are 2 possible ways we could
accomplish this.
One would simply be for those who wished, buy the book, read it, and tell Jon
what you thought (if you liked it!)
I sent an amazon.com link before, but here it is again:
http://www.amazon.com/Ronnie-Gene-Five-Star-Mystery/dp/143282516X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1454799198&sr=8-1&keywords=jon+mills+the+ronnie+gene
It's called "The Ronnie Gene".
(There's no connection except the mere use of the name, but Ronnie was Jon's
girlfriend when he and I and Ronnie headed out west from Chicago to San Diego
to begin grad school together forty-six years ago. Jon and Ronnie in their
microbus, me in my Volvo. Indirectly it was how Timmi and I finally got and
stayed together.
Or secondly, Jon will be sending me the latest (and well-nigh final)
manuscript for the sequel. Would it be insane for me to give it to all of you
and if you were so inspired, you could read it AND make comments back to the
author. I know he loves this feedback and actually incorporated stuff from me
into the first book.
