Hi Deirdre,
Below is what I plan to put in the bulletin for May 1. Let me know if
you see anything that needs to be corrected. THANKS!
Terry
ABOUT THE MUSIC
Our hymns and special music today herald Spring and the beauty of God's
creation.
We welcome the Phoenix Chorale---"dedicated to spreading awareness of
social justice issues and inspiring positive change here in Maine." The
chorale is under the direction of Dr. Deirdre McClure. Mr. David Bartoletti
is the accompanist. They will share "Flow Water" as our prelude. This
composition is by young Irish composer Damien Kehoe. As offertory they will
share a gorgeous Korean folk song "Ahrirang" which is about the beauty of
mountains outside Seoul which are believed to symbolize personal contentment
and triumph. It is arranged by American composer Robert de Cormier (b.
1922). To conclude our service they will share "Blue Boat Home" by living
Minnesota composer Peter Mayer. This song will send you away with the
thought---"the wide universe is the ocean I travel and the earth is my blue
boat home."
