I don?t fully understand ?I used a powered USB hub?:  It mean you have
powered the USB hub from other power source?

Also, your results seems to indicate that ?Old? expEYES with USB will work!
This is nice.

For information I am preparing some project for Africa.

      expEYES Junior <http://expeyes.in/>  has been tested on Raspberry Pi
<http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads>  (software version:
2012-09-18-wheezy-raspbian.img) and it works absolutely fine. I used a
powered USB hub since total 3 ports are required, keyboard+mouse+expeyes.
