I assume you're using IE7?
It sounds as though you have some sites blocked by your Hosts file or IE 
security.
In IE Tools/Options/Security, see what sites are restricted.
Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and see if there's a list of 
sites being blocked. It's quite possible that the "File not found" is 
just a web ad.
