You have two different types of IP addresses on your system. You have an external address or WAN which is 74.239 ... Your router sets up a group of internal IP addresses, LAN, which makes connection to your computers and devices possible. On your main computer, go to run, type in "cmd". When the command prompt window opens, type in "ipconfig /all" (no quotes). You will get a list of the network info for that machine. The IP address will be something that starts with 192.168.xxx. xxx. You will also see the address of your router or default gateway and your subnet mask. The first 3 sets of digits 192.168.xxx have to agree on all your devices. If you are having the IP address automatically assigned, this isn't a problem. But in your case it sounds like your security device has a fixed IP address, 192.168.1.102. The 1 or 001 in the 3rd set of digits is the problem. If you network is running on 192.168.0.xxx then a device with an assigned IP address of 192.168.1.xxx won't work. You need to either change the fixed IP address of your device or change the IP address range on your router. You should be able to do either although I think going into the settings on your security device will be easier. I think your old router already had an internal address scheme that matched your security device. I've had routers come with 192.168.1.xxx ip addresses configured by default. Your router, too, should have a place under the LAN settings where you can set the range of IP address it uses. It will be under LAN or DHCP settings. That will usually look something like 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.256. You can reset that to 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.256. I'm starting the range with a 2 because usually your router is assigned the 192.168.1.1 address. Hope this makes more sense. My DSL modem has a fixed IP of 74.239.177.61 The security system has it the setup HTTP 8080 Server 6036 IP 192.168.001.102 (leading zeros as that is the way it is displayed) When I was using the Linksys the port 8080 was forwarded using that IP but this 7550 won't let me do that. It comes up and says something about using that address in a subnet. I can't find anything that says subnet to input to. I'm not at the shop now so can't talk to the actual items but will maybe later today and will have better info.
