Larry, you should have noticed (and know) that attachments
cannot be posted to the list.

If you think the images are necessary or would be helpful, just
upload them to some place like http://tinypic.com/ (and make
SURE the DIRECT link they give you works because some of the
URL's are to their webpage and not the actual image). Then put
the URL in your post.

When I get a chance I think I'm going to set the list to allow
HTML posts, that way images can be simply pasted into an HTML
format email (NOT "attached") and be seen in the body where you
want them. I'll post a detailed message on that when I do it.

(BTW, FYI, I've never done any port-forwarding so I don't know
about your question).

It sounds like your security system has a fixed IP address of
192.168.1.102.
I'm not sure but I think your router is 192.168.0.1. The third
set of
digits have to agree for you to be able to route directly. You
should be
able to change the fixed IP address in your security system to
something
like 192.168.0.102. If you can't you should be able to set the
router to
use a different range of IP addresses. Something that starts
with
192.168.1.xxx. These are LAN addresses that you are setting.
(The leading
zero's in your 001 aren't really necessary. They are assumed
to be there in
your router.) Once you have the third digit the same in your
network and
your security device, your port forwarding should work. These
settings may
be in you DHCP settings. There is also probably a subnet mask
setting.
It's usually 255.255.255.0. You shouldn't have to change that.

Maybe someone could help me with this project.
I connect to the internet using this Netgear unit. (AT&T 7550)
I have a security system with cameras that I watch using the
internet.

I use to use a Linksys router and had no problem with port
forwarding but
this 7550 won't work with the same numbers.

In the Linksys setup I forwarded 8080 and used 192.168.001.102,
used this
for the 6036 port also.

When I try to use the 192 number above and try to enable, it
says this ip
should be in the subnet. I don't understand that and can't find
any subnet
either.

Here a couple of pictures that might help someone with way more
knowledge
than I.
