Hi,

I will be calling my uncle tonight and he wants me to send him some
protective type programs which I have and will send. He is pretty new to
computers though. He knows he has antivirus (Nortons) on his computer but
does not know about a firewall. I believe he has windows xp, home. What is
the easiest way for me to find out by phone with him if he has a firewall?
Doesnt windows automatically put some kind on your computer. It seems I
turned mine off before in order to just use zone alarm which is what I am
sending him, the free version. If his windows firewall is on, do I have to
cut it off before using zone alarm?

Thanks,
christy

I put these same programs on my other uncle's computer and he has had no
problems since, zonealarm, adaware SE, spyware guard, spyblaster, cleanup..
for some reason my spybot SD would not be accepted favorably on his
computer, kept getting some error so gave up on that one.
