I created an account there, not sure if I have the settings right though, I
do not want others viewing the files just relatives. I saw nothering
asking me for a password to protect the files, where would this be? It
created a folder called "my4share " or something like that and it is marked
"do not share"folder..under permissions, under files, view all files is
checked, is this correct?

thanks
christy

Christy

There are literally thousands of different providers for this out there, but
I'd personally recommend using something like 4-Shared
(http://www.4shared.com). You have to register with the site (it's free),
but the point I like about this service is that you can hide the
folders/files from public view, and password protect the archive before
mounting. This means that, even should someone stumble across the file, they
won't be able to access it without the password.

The service gives you 5Gb of storage to play with per email address, which
should be more than ample for what you are planning. You're then provided
with a link to the uploaded file which you can email to your sister. All she
does is click on the link and she's taken to the file which she then
downloads onto her system.

If you have any problems with the service, don't hesitate to email me on or
offlist and I'll do what I can to help. Happy New Year to all members of
this fantastic little group.

All the best

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- storage question

I have a slideshow I want my sister to see but the file is over 21mg and
will not send thru my email. Does anyone know of any free type storage or
something I can upload it to for her to see it temporarily until I get a new

computer with a dvd burner in it?

thanks,
christy
