Have you ruled out the sound card itself? Have you done any checks to see if
the card is defective?

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: sound not working

I have gone through all of the troubleshooting tips on windows and still
cannot get my sound to work, everything says it is working properly. Any
one have a clue about this. I have creative soundblaster audigy Platinum
sound card, win xp home OS. I tried diff speakers, tried plugging it in any

hole possible it could be on the computer (there are three beside each other

where I know the speakers, mic etc went in before). I checked all the
settings in control panel for sound everything says enabled, nothing muted,
device working properly, everything..any clues

thanks,
christy
