Cristy,
    It's most likely caused by a Firefox memory leak that has been a known 
issue throughout nearly all of the 2.x version.  The soon to be released 
version 3.0 does not include this little bug.  It doesn't cause any serious 
problems under normal operation.  But if you're experiencing an overall 
slowdown of your system, you should consider increasing the amount of RAM in 
your system.  I'm running 2GB of DDR and I'm able to have over 100 tabs 
going at a time without any issues.  This is very important to me since I am 
usually researching several subjects for different folks and need to have 
quick access to each page I choose to leave open.  For instance, I am 
currently looking for mainboards for two different people (one for Intel & 
one for AMD CPUs).  Each 'set' requires at least 20 tabs each as I compare 
different chipsets, RAM requirements, available slots, back panel port 
offerings, prices, BIOS options, etc..         :O)
