Christine, Yes, you should consider how much RAM your computer will run and how many slots you have. For instance, my Dell has two slots and holds a gig. When I got it, there was one stick of 128 MB in it. I immediately bought a 256MB stick and put in the empty slot. Soon after I got a good buy on another 256 MB stick and had to remove the 128 stick. I wish now that I had bought one 512 MB stick. Then later I could have bought another 512 and not wasted any. In general, I'd say buy RAM big single sticks. Do I need to order it through like a VPR site or can go anywhere and ask for 512 mg of memory ( a stick) of DDR 266 DIM, 184pin, PC 2100 (p/n VPR-XDA512). I guess what I am asking is specifically what do I tell the sales person I want? I never bought just memory before. One gig is not alot for computers now a days is it? Do most newer computers allow for more memory than that? I guess you need to consider how much memory a computer can hold before you buy it then. thanks, Christine ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott" <millop69@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, January 01, 2006 6:30 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: capture devises/video cards and memoroy question > Naw, $60 is about right.
