Boot in SAFE mode and then run the scans. Then install free
software to replace expired subscription software.

Hi Janet,

I realize that you have to wait for it but he gets some error
message about active x cant install. I cannot recall the exact
message though, sorry.
The one time we could get adware to run it found a few things like 2
windows trojan downloader or something like that and with an error
that came up with coolwwwsearch about blank {28} and SpySheriff and
Smitfraud-C. I looked these up on google, some kind of spyware I
guess. All the other scans on adware got stuck with about 6
critical items found and would not finish scanning. Could not even
install/download adware from the site, got an error, ie error or
microsoft error, the one about do you want to send a report etc..

This backweb-7288971.exe application erro (a updater file in his
kodak
program) keeps popping up and I think is running in the background
and at start up.Updater agent.

Unfortunately, I think maybe he let his subscription run out
unknowingly and got some critters on the computer. It seems a bit
of a mess to me since I cant get even an online virus scanner to
scan. ;0

Christine
