Okay here is a tip I found that works for removing Windows Messenger, Edit sysoc.inf. This file can be found in a folder named INF, which is in the C:\WINDOWS\inf folder. You can open that file in notepad. Look for the following line: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7 Once you have edited the Sysoc.inf file, you next need to go to add / remove programs, and then click on add / remove Windows Components tab. Look for and un-tick the Messenger entries, if they will let you. Once it is done, and you next re-start the PC, it will no longer run. Now you can go and delete it from the program files folder if so desired. Hope that is clear for you all that want this, Trevnal ----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Briggs" <donbriggs@xxxxxxx> Hi Trevnal, I have Win XP Pro and I can not seem to rename Messenger as suggested by Lacey. It does not allow itself to be renamed. Don Briggs ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trevnal" <trev@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Mary Lou, what Operating System are you running?
