A speaker blip can be something as simple as an indication that your system had just been 'hit' by a spike running through your home at that moment. Even with a UPS, a large spike will still sneak a little of itself through tot he computer and that most often will reveal itself as a noise coming through the speakers. I have also seen them show up as a really quick hiccup on the monitor. Sometimes, it's both.
