Another thought..is using a screen capture program like Techsmith's Snag
it. It does more than just capture the screen. It really has come a long
way since its inception. I think it is about $40...but worth the money if
you look at all the features. One of the things I like is the scrolling web
pages..for the pages that are long..etc..... www.techsmith.com .

Here is a lin to the features page if you are interested. I was surprised
at how sophisticated this program had come from a version I had seen and
used years ago. http://www.techsmith.com/products/snagit/tour/capture.asp
There is a link on that page for their Video Tour, which makes all I am
saying much clearer than my words ever could.

You can do more than image captures.. You can do TEXT capture and you can
EDIT the text. (Think of the tuts you have done..where the words were not
clear to you.. yhou can make notes.. for your self.... so you can understand
the tut.. when you go to do it a few months later..because you forgot how to
do something...

You can also selectively snag graphics from the web...

AND you can do video capture....

and emailing your work is right on the menu... just click it and it is in an
email.. address it and sent it off.

They do have a 30 day trial.. so review the features... they have a
presentation on line...as mentioned in the link above...

No, I do not get any money for mentioning this program.... I have just
re-discovered it. I had the old program..and with my new computer I was
checking for updates and was blown away with the new wonderful features...
and how easy they are to use.

This program also works within Microsoft office products (Word, Powerpoint,
Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer.

Ok, the commercial is over... I will now return you to your normally
scheduled email..... lol!

Have a happy,
Rose

something else I do is to e-mail the website page to myself - then save the
e-mail. that works for some pages. some I will copy and paste and save them
that way too - when they don't save simply, as the web page like you are
trying to do.
when I did tut's that is exactly what and why I did that.
let me know what happens!

thanks Cris I will try it the other way and I never thought
of it being protected that way...I somtimes dont have the time
to do these tuts right away so if I save the html and all the tut
supplies in thier own folder I can take my time and do them as
I want to just in case the site closes........I even tried saving it
offline and I saw it go into thier folder but now I dont know
where it was downloaded too..LOL I didnt have the option
to browse where I wanted it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ill keep you posted going to do the MHT now

Pat -
I do a similar thing - but I save them as an MHT file instead of HTML.
(under
save as type)
that way - it only has to save it as one page - not as a folder and a page.
It's
much more convenient and does not take up as much room. and - you can change
the
name of the page if you want to burn it if the name is too long to burn.

as your problem - I don't know why it isn't saving them - did you try making
a
new folder to save them to? I can't imagine why it isn't saving them -
unless
the particular page you are trying to save is protected from being saved
some
how. Usually when that happens though - you think you are saving it, until
you
go to open it, and it is blank -

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Saving HTML Pages

When I get a page for a tutorail I first save it in my favorites
then I like to go to File save as and save the whole HTML
but for some reason now I get this error:
The page could not be saved to the selected location...
I always make a folder for these pages and save everything
in that particular folder and keep it all together..
Why cannot I not save them this way any longer?
