Gman,

Based on your response about personal use, am I to assume that I don't
need QuickTime to get videos, etc. from the internet? Duh! I do have
Flash Player, Real Player, and Media Player. If I just uninstall
QuickTime, will the other programs pick up the videos? Sorry to be so
thick about this.

As an example, when I go to the AARP game site for the daily crossword
puzzle in Firefox, it says it uses Flash--and it did until just
recently. Now it comes up with the QT icon, which then "breaks" causing
the program not to work. It (QT) will work in my Internet Explorer. I
have checked the preferences in the QT Player. I did not see specific
browser plug-ins. The only thing I did note was that it was set at a
connection speed for my 56.6 modem, but I have never received anything
over 49. I set that to 28.8, but that had no effect. QT did not work
with my Netscape in the last months either! I supposedly have all the
updates.

Again, should I just uninstall the program and let one of the others
pick it up?

Thanks, again, for your time and information.
