That said, I'll try this again for the 3rd time, maybe someone will answer:

Hi Group, I'm looking at an ad in Office Max for a Compaq Presario with the
following specs: Athlon 64 3300 Processor; 1024 MB Memory; 160 GB Hard
Drive; 16X DVD+RW with Lightscribe; 9-in-1 Memory Card Reader; XP Home.
Also includes 15" LCD monitor. The price is $799.99, on sale right now for
$749.99. My "geek" friend says this is good but he saw something similar in
a Frye's ad for $400+. Aside from that, would this be a good deal for the
specs given? My first computer was purchased 6 yrs ago for $1100 including
a cheap, but good, printer (HP 812C) and 17" CRT monitor, Actually, there
is nothing wrong with it except it's only 8GB HD and it's starting to slow
down on me...... Tech Rose, where are you? :o) ~Glo

>largely a group of novices who share information regarding
computers. That being said, we may not know the answer to your
question, or the individual who does know the answer may simply not be
checking the mail right now. Think of the list as a sort of family of
volunteers.....and as such, we sometimes don't get all the questions
answered.
