Is anyone familiar with 'hyjack this' ?
If you ran that, and someone was familiar with it, they could read it and tell
you what to get rid of.
I go to several forums - spybot's and lavasoft's -
right now, spybot's seems to be down -
here is a form from spyware info that I get the newsletter from.
perhaps it would be of help - I think they look at hijackthis logs here, but not
sure.

I did all that. i have ad-aware AND spybot. AND spyblaster..always updated.AND
there is the Earthlink spyware program..so that's 4. NONE of them came up with
anything. EXCEPT one I recently downloaded but I only did THAT today and this
has been going on now for almost a week. This new one says something is in
registry but the other's donet show it. And you can't remove on the new one
unless you PAY for it. Sneaky...

Sounds like a browser hijacker or spyware or some such nefarious junk. Run
Spybot and then install SpywareBlaster to keep the junk from happening
again. Make sure you do the updates regularly on both. Kat

I checked... it's disabled...sighhhh. They are just big adds. The first ones
came up empty. big oblong box that says Internet Explorer ad. NOW they are
coming up with ads. EVERY time I open IE. Is there somewhere ELSE to look?
The first two, one was an add for software and the second I don't know..I
closed it.

What do they say specifically? Maybe they are popups from spammers using
the messenger service in Windows (not MSN Messenger). This is a service
that allows administrators to send netsend messages in the form of popups to
any IP address. If this is it, go to your administrative tools > services >
and turn off messenger service. You don't need this for anything else and
it's just a big spam hole. Kat

That may be because they're coming =from= Earthlink! Read your
terms of service (probably at the ISP's 'help' web site); they
likely say that the ISP is allowed to accept advertising and to show
it to you as it sees fit. The difference is that it is coming from
them, not from individual sites you visit... and as such is not
subject to blocking!
Juno, which I've used since '98, has always had one or two pop-ups
appear whenever I get on the web!
