Optionals are typically drivers and feature, performance or bug fixing updates. Unless you have a good reason not to install them I suggest you do. If you have some doubts, do drivers first, one or two at a time so you can tell if one causes problems. Check the patch watch at windowssecrets.com for the others. Don BTW Windows Secrets is good for more than just the patch watch. They put out a newsletter that is always packed with good information. -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of cristy Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2011 11:30 AM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- IE 9 and windows updates HI everyone, I may have asked before but has anyone had issues with updating to IE 9 on windows 7 64 bit OS? Windows is telling me to update to it. I mostly use firefox but on occasion IE. Also it is wanting to update my microsoft office validation tool or something, do I have to do that? I have like 37 optional updates that I have no clue which I should update.
