I would buy almost anything before I would buy from Wal-Mart.....
Again, this is my personal opinion.

I ONLY go there when I cannot find something elsewhere... like a dish drain
or ice cube trays..even the 99 cents store did not have them and I checked
first!

The reason they have such a great return policy... they make so much money
and can write the other stuff off and folks think they are great It gets
them even more business.
They do NOT have all the best prices in town. They have the best prices on
some products..but like what they call loss leaders. Folk come in to buy
the sale item and make the mistake of thinking this other product is a great
price too and it may be $20 more than the competitors, but Wal-Mart got them
in the store.
There was an expose on them recently on TV. It was not flattering and it
was not refuted.

They are NOT good employers. As the world's largest store you would think
they would treat their employees well! I have friends and relatives who have
worked for them and experienced this first hand.

They try to not have any more full time employees than absolutely necessary
so as not to have to pay benefits! No health insurance! How many employees
in the US alone work for Wal-Mart and have no insurance? Guess who pays
for that? If the minimum wage employee can't afford it..who pays?

God forbid you get hurt on the job..they fight that tooth and nail with a
slew of attorneys and keep the poor guy broke. Some attorneys do not want
to take Wal-Mart worker's comp cases as they know they will be buried in
paper work on a contingency fee.

I am sorry..as usual I got carried away.. story of my life..
Again, this is MY opinion only.

I know in some small towns Wal-Mart is THE store to go to. I do not think
anyone who shops at Wal-Mart is a bad person. Please.. never think that.
It is the corporation who is not doing the right thing. Especially when
they are the only game in town, you have little choice.

I also know that Wal-Mart hires people and employment is important. I just
wish they played by the rules.

When they first came to Carson City I was excited. I had no clue. I went
in the store..and was amazed. It was not all I thought it would be. I did
not like the layout. I hate the aisles that keep you lost in them..(to keep
you shopping) and decided in the first few trips..this was not for me.

Oh! I have been there the morning after Thanksgiving to get my $1.00 sets of
outdoor lights. I do not completely ban the store from places I will go,
but once or twice a yr is often for me.

I am going to the corner and admonishing myself now! I will be quiet for
the rest of the day.

do not plan on Walmart giving you up to date computers.
But they have the marketing power and muscle to dictate to the refurb
house what they want and at the price they want.
