As you suggested, holding the shift key when you delete permanently deletes a file rather than sending it to the recycle bin. This can be a useful tool to use it must be used very carefully! Especially if you have disabled the delete confirmation function, which the original poster wants to do. With the confirmation disabled I do NOT suggest using the SHIFT-DELETE tool. Don PLEASE, if you are able, help the Hurricane Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne relief efforts. Your help can be to donate blood, cash, groceries, clothing, shelter, volunteer time or just thoughts and prayers. I promise it will be sincerely appreciated by those that need the assistance. Call your favorite religious, volunteer or charitable agencies to learn how you can help. Thank you. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bashful Bob" <Bashfulbob@xxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 11:36 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: How do I... > Hi > Hold down the shift key when you delete it. > > Be aware that once done, you can't get it back. > It will, however ask you if you are sure you want to delete it. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Cajun" <cajun@xxxxxxxxx> > To: "PCTechTalk" <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 8:50 PM > Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- How do I... > > > > How do I get Windows to stop asking me if I want to delete a file every > time I delete one?
