This post jogged my memory. I had gone to one site and watched for a while 
just a couple of days ago and I used Windows Media Player.  So---this 
request for validation has occurred after the power outage, and after we 
opened the case, found the fan problem, and put everything back again.
I don't see any correlation but that is the sequence of events.
