I did a hard reset on the router. The new laptop connects OK but
LOCAL only. No internet connection. I scoured everything looking for
a setting to set but found nothing. Took some meds and ran the
recovery discs and will start from scratch. Any one with Vista got
any ideas?

I really think this is a Vista problem. The XP laptop was a piece of
cake to get up and running when it was new.

The old laptop stayed connected through everything... even after
setting a new passkey.

The hard reset also knocked out my XP desktop which connects via cat5
ethernet. I cannot for the life of me get it back except by plugging
directly into the modem instead of through the router. Firewall on or
off does not matter.
