If you read the manual that comes with NORTON's Systemworks, you will found
they always refer to the program as NORTON's NOT Symantec.
no problem covering for you. It is a rough job to hold too Rose.
Technically, one does not get NORTON's free when you buy anything else with
it. In fact, come to think about it, NORTON's systemworks was not exactly
free to me. I had to pay for shipping and postage to mail the rebate forms
in, etc., etc., lololol In the final analysis, the cost was considerably
cheaper than the price over the counter.
Well, when I got it, I decided to install it on the little woman's old 400
cpu, Windows 98 SE. (everything is old in it) During installation I got
about 20 (no kidding) read write errors. When it eventually finished it
would not open, no matter how I tried it. So I went and did their
recommended removal (add and remove programs). Something was still affecting
the puter as it would operate real slow compared to its past history. So I
went into the puter and removed everything I could find that had NORTON's or
Symantec attached to the file title. Didn't help, know I get a message, just
before it loads the Windows logo that says the System file or something else
is looking for NORTON's and can't find, please hit key to continue.
I tried installing NORTON's AV 2004 and basically the same thing happened
with the read write errors but not as many.
So I think I will just clean the hard drive off and reinstall everything
again.

I loaded the systemworks on the laptop, XP PRO with no problem and runs
fine. I put everything that came in the package except "GO BACK"
Very little to no documentation on how all the programs work.
To tell you the truth, I am getting kind of fed up with Antics by NORTON's
and think next time I am going to try another brand. Anyone have any
suggestions?
