OK Sandy,

If you're ready we can start this little spearmint!!

You have the CD with Super Fdisk on it.
It should be bootable (mine burned that way anyway)
Your machine has to be set to boot to a CD first in the order of boot
options. That seems to be the default order anymore so you should be good to
go.
Now,
insert the CD and reboot
You should be booted directly into Super Fdisk
THE BIG QUESTION.............

Does your external drive show up as one of the installed drives in your
machine????????????
If not we get to go to plan B or C or D
If the drive is there and you're sure it's the external we can attempt to
format the drive and thus clean it of those files.
To Format......
Highlight the drive in the window...........
From the menu at the top select Format
You should get a warning that it will wipe out all the data, etc. and then
then proceed with the format.
When it finishes go to the menu again and File/Exit
Reboot and we're done!

Plan B

If Super Fdisk doesn't work then maybe MoveOnBoot will remove the immobile
files so you can format from within Windows?
I sent the link for MOB, the freeware version works fine. If you don't have
it I can round it up again.

Plan C is the remove the drive from the external enclosure and connect it
temporarily directly to your internal hard disk controller?
New machine, have to open the case.......... warranty problems, lots of
work??????????

Plan D is to keep Gman busy this weekend with a low level format.
Personnally I think he's a saadist or masochist and enjoys that type of
activity??

What do you say?

I've got to leave in about twenty minutes to go pick up some meds but I
won't be gone long>
Whenever you're ready!
