Hi Judith, I'm kicking around the idea of a new PC, and this method you use sounds like the easiest and most accurate way of getting everything I want transferred from the old to the new. I've never saved updates to any of my downloaded programs, but I assume this transfer method would move everything as it is right now, including updates,is that correct? I'm kind of computer illiterate to the extent that I only learn things that I HAVE TO know, and I suppose XP will be one of those things! That has been my big holdup on getting a new PC, I'm afraid I won't be able to figure it out. But having all my "stuff" that I'm familiar with would make me feel like at least the thing belongs to me, even if I don't know what to do with it! Thanks for any advice/info on this. ~Glo ----- Original Message ----- From: Judith To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, December 24, 2004 10:42 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Computer Advice http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=166854 arnold _______________________ Yes that is it and even though it does say Direct-Linq, it comes with PC-Linq software. Sorry I thought I paid $14.95 for it -- but must have paid $19.99. It is well worth the price. It works like explorer with one computer and the folder and files on top and the other computer files and folders on the bottom. So all I have to do is highlight and then drag the files up or down to have them copy to either computer. Connects using USB ports (the cable I got). I haven't burned very many backup CDs since I got it -- no need. Figure it has paid for itself many times over. Judith -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
