No it doesn't it runs usually 24/7 Is it better to turn off and reboot
daily? I usually reboot about every other , I am up early on computer all
day and it runs and gathers info at night for me... Although now I am
wondering if I am having other problems I don't know about yet... Thanks for
trying to help!

I wouldn't re-format at this point, I would maybe overinstall. ODD a 2 - 3
year old Gateway!?!
a buddy of mine had a time thing go wrong with his 2-3 yr old Gateway too.
He doesnt know if he had a timezone problem or not, he never looked.
Eventually hi sproblem did fix itself however he is on Dial-up and cleans
and reboots his puter everyday. I am assuming you are on a broadband
connection (as you use it for work) and it doesn't get rebooted every day.

It's a gateway, and as I mentioned 2 or is it 3 years old now. A few weeks
ago I did a search and didn't find anything so was hoping to replace or
repair the clock.... but can't find a thing on it.
I was transferring my information form calendar on my laptop using a pst
file and noticed when it put the new appointments from my laptop into the
calendar on this desktop, it puts them in the wrong places, ex I have an
appointment for 4 and it put it at 8pm on the calendar! but that might be a
different problem....
If I didn't need the computer so much for work, I would reformat it but... I
need it daily for work

Is your computer on a network or was it purchased new or used at a surplus
sale or similar and have a network configured or corporate customized
version of Windows installed? In a home network? Do you login as an
administrator or a user. (I'm thinking permissions here) Is your XP the
Home or Pro version? Retail or OEM?
What was done with the computer between the last time you had the tab and
the first time you noticed it missing?
What brand is your computer? Have you called them or visited the user
forums to find an answer?
I Google searched Microsoft.com and could not find anything useful.
