The type of disk should make no difference.  I have found burning audio CD's at 
a much slower
speed, say up to about 10 times, works better for the sound quality.

I usually buy Music CD-R's with the "Digital Audio - Recordable" Logo (Next
to the MB / Minute / Multi Speed label.
