I don't watch DVDs on my computer, so I never really gave this any thought. 
My apologies for this oversight.

These 'Alternative' media players are designed to allow someone to avoid all 
of the system-intrusive bulk that comes with QuickTime and/or RealPlayer, 
but DVD watching is probably not very high on the issues the makers 
considered while designing it.  My suggestion would be to look for a more 
dedicated DVD player to compliment your multimedia arsenal.  As a bonus, 
you'll get additional functionality that you would never have had with the 
actual QT or RealPlayer programs.

I'm hoping that some of our other members already have a favorite software 
DVD player in mind and will chime in with some suggestions here.       :)
