You can mix and match the memory, with two things to keep in mind.

1. If you mix two sticks of RAM, both will operate at the speed of the
slower of the two. So, best to get same speed RAM.

2. If you want to use the faster DUAL-CHANNEL memory, you must use the =
exact
same memory modules, and they must be placed in the appropriate paired =
slots
(usually the same color slot).

I now have 2 sticks of RAM. Slot 1 has 1024 MB and Slot 2 has 256 MB. =
I=20
mentioned to my tech that I had read "somewhere" that if the sticks were =
not

equal the computer would slow down to the lesser of the two. I probably =

have said that all wrong but anyway I did convey to him that I thought =
they=20
should be equal. He said he had been doing this for 10 years now and had =

never had a problem doing it this way.
Another big sigh----:-)
I am, as you may have gathered by now, gradually leading up to sharing =
with=20
you the problem I am now having. The list is so busy this morning I =
kind of

hate to introduce something new.
