Hi Pam,

Thanks for those other sites. I'll try them.
safe mode to delete it?
No, I only ran the rmbugbear.exe from safe mode; I did not try to delete the
dll file. I agree that I should not delete the dll file until after I find
out what it is used for. Tonight at home I'll work on it.

  Hi Carl,
Try this one and see if it will help.

Also, AntiVir is another free AV program and proves to be much more effective
than AVG.

I couldn't find reference to the dll file you mentioned. Did the AV fix tell
you it was infected? Perhaps this other fix will overcome, and if not have you
tried going in to safe mode to delete it? Probably be a wise thing to know
what it is for before deleting it and try to find a replacement for it. I
checked my machine and I don't have that dll.

I'm out of town for the rest of the day. Good luck.

    Hi Elaine,

Thanks for the response. That site is a pay for virus fixes site. I
suspect they may be the very ones sending the bugs? :-)

Anyway, I download AVG's rmbugbear.exe and it fixed my computer #1 (I did
not know it was infected) but it will not fix computer #2. I'm running
Windows xp on all my units and one has to disable the "System Restore" feature
1st and then boot into safe mode and then run rmbugbear.exe. After the one
virus in my system dll file on computer #2, I open AVG and wrote a message for
help (to AVG technical people) from within the software and I hope to get a
reply soon.

        Hi Guys,

Well it seems computer #2 has the I-Worm/Bugbear virus and I can't get
it off. It infected 3 files which were WinZip.exe, ad-aware.exe and
zgcfkqq.dll. I simply deleted the WinZip.exe and the ad-aware.exe files but
cannot remove zgcfkqq.dll because it is a system file. I downloaded a program
called Solo and it did detect 4 more infected files but can not clean them.
Any suggestions how to remove the bug?
