Trapper, That is all good and well - except when you copy it out and hand out those copies to someone else. That is piracy. Same with running a copy of XP on more than one computer, the license which you bought along with the CD is for one computer only. Breaking the license is breaking the law and yet again piracy. If you don't agree , then change the law but don't break it. It is like buying a book - the book is yours to do with as you wish - except for copying the contents and passing the content off as yours - that is plagiarisation. Same with a computer operating system or program, you can do with the legal CD whatever you want - you cannot copy it and pass it on as yours. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TTFN – Vic "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _____ From: pcductape-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pcductape-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of trapper Sent: Friday, 28 February, 2003 02:35 To: pcductape@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Not everyone agrees with my philosophy..been called everything because of it..but I firmly believe that if I paid for it..it's mine and I can do whatever I want with it..that includes throwing it in the dumpster..making a chime out of it or giving it away..I wont sell it for profit...but will sure give it as a birthday gift, or allow someone to borrow it..Just like I would a movie cd or a tape. I know many don't agree and MS would come unglued...But they have a long way to go to try and make a thief out of me because I don't and will not go out and buy another one to use on my computer in the other room..not anymore than I would go out and buy another tape of my favorite song to play on the car stereo..
