Pam etc,
Sorry I am so late in getting round to emails but we have been having
connection problems here - the main HDSL router/modem from the phone
company failed twice within 24 hrs leaving us without internet for two
days, each time till they could send a replacement. [ High bit-rate
Digital Subscriber Line - Modems on either end of one or more twisted
wire pair that deliver T1 speeds ]
Opera without java is smaller - at only 3.2 mb
Phoenix [which is the cousin of Mozilla [and almost as good IMHO, but
still very much in beta stage ] is only 6 MB. The goal of Phoenix is to
build a full browser with all the capabilities of it's "big" brothers at
a much smaller size and much faster. So far they are doing quite well.
And then there is Net Tamer - it is a text only browser that will run
under Windows at <http://www.nettamer.net/n1121386.exe>
it downloads at all of 750KB !!!! Hahahah, it is a tad old but works
okay - most of the time, no fancy stuff just text.

TTFN – Vic

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and
the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to
find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by
a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know
even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

Duh! I suppose it would be hard to go to a download site without a
browser to take you. I can send you the file if you would like.
Opera 6.0 is 10.8 mb
Mozilla is 10.6 mb
and NN 4.78 (sorry, it's the only version of Netscape I've got) is 22.41
The Mozilla browser looks and feels just like Netscape. The Opera
browser is different but easy to use and easy to learn to like. Let me
know and I'll shoot whichever over.

Try downloading Opera or Netscape browser and see if you can access the
internet via one of them. Then you can atleast access the online AV
sites that David & Martha mentioned.
