Lester,
I hope that blind and low vision coalition members are sending you their
locations where APS are necessary. I think that input would be the most
valuable.
Here is my list of EPP - exclusive pedestrian signals - locations that need APS
otherwise there really is no way to know when to cross:
Exclusive
pedestrian phasing - Manhattan

Chamber
Street and Center Street, City Hall area

Fifth
Ave and Washing Square Park North

Hudson
and Grove Streets

60
& B’way

59
& 9/Columbus

B’way
and Washington Place

23
& Madison

W
4 & Jane St.

32
& 7
On the other matter, I was hoping that we would have DOT feedback about the
concept of community board districts to localize prioritization. Not every
coalition member liked the idea, but we did agree before meeting with Matt that
we would present the idea. My point is, while the idea appeals to many of us,
the department responsible for implementing any such strategy has said nothing
about the proposal -- and I think they might have valuable feedback. So where
does that leave us?
