Terri, you didn't mention June 20th at Bookmans. Is the solar viewing still on?

Subject: [pasmembers] Summer 2015 events

PAS Members,
Awesome Monday to all!
I'm looking at our calendar and it is scarce in events. Mike doesn't have any
great events lined up but the public keeps asking for public events they can
attend.
Does anyone want to hold more events than are listed, currently on the calendar?
Here's the Summer list of events:
June 10 or 24 is the last Monthly CTCA event. We are working to change the
schedule to quarterly, per CTCA request.
June 12 is Yves Party - RSVP with Yves to attend.
June 12 is also the next DBG Adults Education class, for which we are all set,
as long as weather allows this back up date to happen.
June 28 is the next Bookmans Telescope Workshop.
July 3 is a Fireworks party, at the moment attendance is for PAS Members only.
Due to the moon being so large, there will not be a star party this night. But
there will be movies, games, potluck, and hopefully popsicles or other cold
refreshments brought by the attendees, for enjoying after dinner and during the
fireworks. RSVP required. Location: Mike's home in carefree. More details will
be in the calendar.
July 26 Bookmans Telescope Workshop.
Aug 30 Bookmans Telescope Workshop.
That's it for the summer.
Mike, do you want to host any private star gazing with potluck events? How
many, I can set it up.
Anyone else want to host a party or do you have something you want to do a
party for, such as the Perseid Meteor shower which falls during No moon this
year on Aug 12, but it is a Wednesday night. Anyone want me to see if Mike will
host a party that night, for the viewing of the meteor shower as well as maybe
a star party? Let me know.
Neptune is at opposition on Setp 1. Anyone interested in a star party to view
that on Saturday Sept 5, when the moon will not be in our way to see Neptune?
Someone should look that up, now that i think of it, the moon might be near
Neptune later after Midnight.
I will be setting up the school events later this month. If you want to grab a
Friday night before the schools do, let me know, so we don't put schools on
nights we want to ourselves.
September great viewing Saturday nights are:Sept 5 and 12
October great viewing nights areOct 3 and 10 and 31
November great viewing nights areNov 7
I guess we call these Dark sky nights, in which the moon doesn't rise until
after midnight, thus the sky is darker, longer.
December dark sky nights areDec 5 and then Dec 12 we have a 1 day old moon
That covers the rest of the year.We have events Sept to Dec I didn't list, so
check the calendar.
Have a super day!Terri, Event Coordinator
