Ron could be right, this feels like the six week colds I had before. Have the
party at Ron's, Ofelia and I need time to recover. Long hours asleep is not
doing it.

Subject: Re: Question about NSTS of Oct 6 - Planetarium show and change in
venue?
Attendees of the NSTS of Oct 6:
Thank you so much Ron, for that clarification.
I'm sorry if it sounded like a definite move.
And I also would like to know how to post it to the site,
if we are doing all I mentioned above ....
1) Planetarium show in the afternoon at Ron's before the NSTS
to help those who need help with navigation of the night sky - such as a new
member....
and because I love Ron's shows....
and then
2) Then, maybe as a group, everyone pitches in for pizza - which means
that if William and I are picking up the pizza, we have to research what's on
sale,
how many slices, how to divide it up between those who want to have it ordered,
and I'd like to consider catering to those who want certain types of pizza,
such as Mike wants Hawaiian,
as an example.OR Potluck, which for those of us who attend the planetarium
show, would need
to stop by a store to pick up food before returning to Mike's for the potluck.
and 3) Then have the NSTS at Mike's house, or Ron's house. So, I'm asking those
who are attending,
do they have a preference and I'll go with the majority.
Another thought was to make food for the potluck, then drop it off at Mike's
and caravan to Ron's
so that the newbies attending can ride over with those of us who know how to
get to Ron's, and leave the extra cars at Mike's.
Just an idea. That worked well at a previous time. Mike drove a bunch of us
over to Ron's and then back.
So, I need to work out a time frame if we are including the Planetarium show in
the schedule for this event.
That's what I'm asking for. And Ron has a good point, he needs to pin down what
he is doing that day
so he knows how to set up his October planetarium shows.
Now, it's your turn. If you have a preference, send it to the group and i will
tally it.
Then, what ever the majority chooses, is what we will do that day.
Many thanks to Ron for offering to have the whole event at his home. That's so
nice of you Ron.
And Many thanks to Mike for offering the use of his home for this event, as
well.
What is your vote?
Here's the options in brief....
1. Planetarium Show before the NSTS? Yes or No
2. Potluck at Mike's or Ron's?
3. NSTS at Mike's or Ron's?
4. If we do the planetarium show and then the potluck and then the NSTS at
either Mike's or Ron's, do we want to bring some cash and pitch in on getting
group pizza to make the food part of this easier on everyone involved?
Send back your answers to all 4 questions. Thanks

Just to clarify. Because of the time constraints caused by the move between
venues and problems caused the last time this was done, I offered to host the
entire event if it would help. This is totally up to you guys. The last thing I
want to do is step on anyone's toes here, especially Mikes. I don't want anyone
to think I am demanding the entire event move to my place which it kind of
sounds like. I just offered the planetarium because it is a great teaching
tool. It is totally up to you if you want to use it. However, it would be nice
to know what the group wants by the 28th so that I can plan my normal October
shows.

Michael,
the change in venue wasn't due to you being sick. I didn't know you were sick.
It is because Ron wanted the star party at his place. I'm getting
a feel from the members as to if they want to do the star party
and planetarium show all at Ron's house, or
do the NSTS at your place?
And to make it easier on eveyrone, are we interested in
ordering a group pizza?
William and I can go get it, from Ron's house,
or we can figure it out once we get back to your house and have someone
take all the collected monies for the pizza and
go get it....
We can split the cost per slice.. It's usually 10 slices per pizza,
so divide the total by how many slices we have, and then by how
many are pitching in to have pizza that night, and then send that much
with the person fetching the pizza.
Just my 2 cents.
So, anyone attending... do you want to do the NSTS at Mike's or Ron's? I'm open
to either.
Maybe, before we do a training session at Ron's, we might want to have a
private
mini star party at his house as a test run. The NSTS usually has a lot
of attendance.
Just my thoughts.
Everyone have a super day!

The party can be here. I should be over this congestion by then.

Terri,
I don't remember Rick offering me a ride...and it is not listed on the website,
where did you get that Rick was picking me up?
If Mike does not want to have it at his place then Ron's is a good alternative.
And if he wants to have some parties at his place that would be good as well.

Good afternoon attendees of Oct 6 Night Sky Training session...
I'm not seeing that many attendees needing help at this event or even attending
this event.
So, here's what i'm looking for... if you are attending as a teacher, let me
know. You can do this by return email or change your RSVP status by the day
before the event.
http://www.pasaz.org/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=2707&day=2018-10-6 ] ;
Teachers i see in the RSVP list are:
Roger
Terri
Attending to learn at this event are:
Rick
Don (ride from Rick)
Pete
Mike, this event is at your house . Are you not attending?
RSVP now.
If i have the above list incorrect, let me know.
Now, to the additional info....
Ron, who is copied on this email.... wants to know
1) if we are interested in changing the venue from Mike's house to Ron's house.
Ron says he has room to accommodate the scope set up and the potluck.
Put in our 2 cents as to if you want to move the venue to Ron's house for this
event...
This is a Private, PAS Members and their immediate families ONLY event.
Ron does have a theater room, for a movie after the star party, if the star
party breaks up earlier in the evening.
2) Ron is offering to do a planetarium show earlier in the day to provide a
What's up this night? show. I am guessing his show would be 1 hour in length as
most of his shows are.
If this sounds like a good idea, my thought is this:
The potluck, at Ron's or Mike's starts at 5pm.
Last time there was a planetarium show and then a potluck at MIkes, those of us
who attended both, ended up late to the potluck as they had to go pick up food
and bring it to the party. And that took about an hour. so, i suggested this
time frame for this days 2 activites, if there is enough interest in having a
planetarium show prior to the NSTS potluck.
3pm to 4pm Planetarium show
4pm to 5pm - pick up food for potluck or all pitch in for pizza
5pm potluck
6pm class set up
7pm is start of class
Let me know if you have an interest in attending the planetarium show before
being at the potluck, and
if the time frame above works in your schedule.
Originally i set the time for 2:30 planetarium show but if we are doing a
EVERYONE PITCH IN FOR PIZZA potluck, then William and i can run to get the
pizza from Dominoes on our way back to Mike's, or if the event moves to Ron's,
we can run and get the pizza then. And everyone can bring cash to pay for their
part of the pizza, equal shares.
Give Ron and me your input on this idea.
then the 3rd question i have is:
3) Future events where by we can put a planetarium show on the same night as a
PAS Members Only star party at Mike's... would you want me to schedule this so
Ron can do a "What's up in tonight's sky" presentation for the attendees?
Input requested.
Thanks
Terri, Event Manager
Many thanks to Ron for offering these options.
Get back to me.
This email is going out to PAS Members on the PASMembers list serv. If you
received 2 copies, you RSVP'd to attend the NSTS on this night and i'm looking
for input from you.
Here are some events we could have a planetarium show about the night sky,
before the event at Mike's:
Mar 9 2019 NSTS
Looking at our 2018-2019 schedule,
we don't have that many events at Mike's this
school year.
Do we want to set up more events?
We probably should have some dark sky events for members only and then maybe a
couple dark sky events open to the public. Ideas? Mike?
