This year, the best time for seeing the Perseids meteor shower (up to 100
per hour) will be Aug 12th after midnight and Aug 13th after midnight.
Pete Turner, our current PAS secretary, is offering to let PAS members use
his yard to view the event for one night only. He will let us schedule the
first try for Sat night Sunday morning Aug 11th -12th. If it looks like it
will be too cloudy, it will be called off around noon Aug 11th and
rescheduled for the night of Sunday Aug 12th to Monday morning Aug 13th. He
lives in north east Scottsdale 8625 E. Preserve Way

with dark skies to the north east, which is where most of the meteors
should originate.
Any PAS member is invited and can arrive as early as 10 pm and stay until
at least 1 am. Bring a lounge chair and your own drinks. Pete's house will
be available for bathroom use.
I am asking Terri to please put this on our PAS website calendar for PAS
members only. People coming should rsvp so if it is cancelled we can get in
touch with you. We will need your phone number and/or email address.
Once you RSVP the gate code will be give to you to get in. If you call
Sam Insana at 602-315-4750, I will give you the code.
