Just FYI: The 17th has a 76% waning gibbous moon that rises at 11:30 pm. Will
be very bright/Not ideal...

Subject: [pasmembers] Re: PAS Messier Marathon is Mar 25 2017
If the All Arizona Marathon is on the 17th, we should have the PAS one on the
25th, which would allow all members to attend both.
Many of us would choose to go to Antennas on the 17th with the SAC group. I'd
recommend doing the PAS marathon on the alternate weekend of the All Arizona
one hosted by SAC and others.

My input:
I would say we could schedule both weekends for the Messier Marathon
this year, or pick one, as a group. There's nothing going on those 2
weekends, that I've scheduled thus far, but on Mar 25 i have notes
that Mars, Orion Nebula and the ISS will be visible.
And on Apr 1 Mercury will be at greatest elongation.
Does any one have a preference as to which date we pick for the PAS
Messier Marathon?
If both dates are just as good a choice, based on Moon phase, I can
leave the choice up to those who might want to attend to do the
Messier Marathon at Mike's house.
And on Apr 1, moon set is about midnight. You are going to have a
bright, 1st quarter moon in your eye while doing some of the objects
before midnight. Maybe we want our event on Mar 25 so there isn't a
moon in the way.
ON Mar 25, the moon goes down before the Sun, so the whole night is NO
MOON in the way.
*I vote Mar 25 *based on this info.
What is your input?
I can't get into the site to post this, so make a note of it and I
will get it on line once i can get to it. I think it is very odd. I
can get into some pages but not others. NO banking, no astronomy like
pasaz.org or SAC or EVAC sites... Maybe it is sites that require a
password that have the problem. But William can work on it when he
gets home while i'm out teaching today. Thank you William, for fixing this
issue with my computer.
Everyone have a spectacular day.
Mar 25 will be the PAS Messier Marathon in 2017.
And Alex, thank you so much for your research.

March 25/26,
2017 (primary) as well as April 1/2, 2017 (secondary option).”

P.S. pasaz.org seems to be working okay for me.

It's several websites for me. However, i can access a few things, I
just can't get into PASaz.org <http://pasaz.org/> or some other
sites I need to get into to find out things. I was searching on the
web for the date of the Messier Marathon in 2017 and all sites I
tried to get to, also didn't give me access.
Can someone verify Mar 25 2017 as the All Arizona Messier Marathon date?
Thanks, that would be helpful. I found it at a link with a book
that lists the suggested dates. You can get the actual date on the
Saguaro Astronomy Club site, but i can't get into that site, either.
Wishing everyone a super day.

Hi Terri,
I was able to get in no problem. If you are getting a router error
I would think that is on your end. Try another web-site to see if
the problem persists.
