These are ducks walking on the Columbia,River.......which is now partially
frozen.

Thus is just nuts. (My humble opinion)

Enjoy the warmth in AZ!!

Hey, that way we get our trace metals, right?!

I read a while back about placing a container on your roof and collecting
micrometeorites that way.....there is a problem in Arizona,
however.....when it is windy, bring your collector inside, whether there is
a "dust storm" or not....because there are a,lot of particulates in the air
in the  Phoenix area. (As opposed to Oregon, where we get water, ice, or
ice water falling out of the sky.........)

There is a fraction of the particles that are micrometeorites, and a lot
of them are magnetic. (Sorry I don't remember the percentages)

Cheers and good luck!!

When I lived in the Midwest, I put a nylon sock on the end of a gutter

in each salad that you have.  Yum!

I was reading some posts and came across this novel (to me) way to
collect magnetic micro meteorites:

Set a high-walled, clean tray of water outside for a while. (No one said
for how long, but a week seems reasonable to me.)

Tie a string to a large magnet (like from an old speaker) and wrap a
plastic bag around it tightly. This will keep its exposure to water to a
minimum, and help in the collection process. Drag the magnet all around the
bottom of the tray.

Inside, remove the magnet and place the plastic bag on a multi-layer
paper towel. Wipe the bag all over the paper. This will transfer any
micrometeorites from the bag to the paper, as well as absorb any water.

When the water is evaporated, examine the paper under a microscope. You
may see tiny magnetic beads, micro meteorites from space!

This sounds really cool - I may try this myself,
