Those thinking about attending the Mercury Transit to help out,
whether with or without a scope, please send back an email just
so i have an idea how many PAS Members are interested in

If William can get time off work, he can attend, but that may not be possible.
He used up most of his vacation days doing the Lumi events.

and the transit starts a little before that (around 4:15 am). I suggest we
arrive at PVCC at 7 am and set up and begin showing at 7:30 am. That gives the
sun 2 hours to clear any buildings. Also, the first classes begin at 8 am so
that students can view the sun and mercury on their way to their classes. This
also gives the public a chance to view on their way to work. The transit ends a
little before noon (11:42 am), so I suggest we keep the telescopes up until
12:15 pm so students can view the sun, even without mercury, at the start of
their lunch break. We should send out a press release for the general public
and for PVCC students and faculty and staff.
If we end up with a lot of PAS scopes then we may want to expand and also do
Bookmans at the same time.

shouldn't set up by the telescope dome on the Main Campus.. We might take the
