Hi All, I wrote to Albert with Joe's questions, and here are his replies:

(1) How much weight-wise does the mount need to support?
1. I image with an FSQ 106.

(2) Does he want computerized or manual tracking? Is he planning on doing astrophotography?
2. Computerized tracking and yes for astrophotography. I would bring my laptop and I used Maxim to guide and pre process

(3) What kind of mount hardware does he have? Losmandy, Meade, Celestron, Canon, Other?
3. I currently use a Takahashi EM400

(4) Does his OTA have hardware for fork-mount, Alt-AZ, or German equitorial mount?
4. German Equatorial

Albert also added: If I travelled I could bring my laptop, camera, main scope and guidescope. My mount is too heavy to take with me easily. If I could get an EM 400 or 200 that would be great then I don't need any new drivers. Thanks for the help.

Hello Leah

Good question- I don't know of anybody who rents mounts.
Maybe Photon Intruments 122 East Main Street Mesa, AZ 85201 (480) 835-1767? They have limited hours 9am-3pm Wed-Sat. (I tried calling but too late to reach them today).

It would be better if someone in the PAS group with an extra mount could lend a mount to this guy, like Chris Johnson.

It would be good to know what the customer requirements are:
(1) How much weight-wise does the mount need to support?
(2) Does he want computerized or manual tracking? Is he planning on doing astrophotography? (3) What kind of mount hardware does he have? Losmandy, Meade, Celestron, Canon, Other? (4) Does his OTA have hardware for fork-mount, Alt-AZ, or German equitorial mount?

      Hello

I am an amateur astronomer in South Florida. I have family in Phoenix and would love to to some imaging when I visit this spring. I can't possibly ship all my equipment on the plane with me. Does your organization happen to know any business in the Phoenix area that would rent a mount to me? I'd bring my own scope and camera.

      Many thanks

      Albert Barr
