This sounds a little ethereal, but from my years working with Generations
Incorporated--bringing slow readers, mostly inner city kids up to or near
reading level by 4th grade--we learned that you needed to start earlier. We
started Grades 1-4 and then went K-4 and it helped. So maybe this is true for
some groups.

Color me very skeptical of this study and its results. As a statistician who
has looked at erroneous results from even the 'gold standard of studies (RCT)',
I can spot 'statistical cheating' when I see it.
