You may have received the latest issue of "Andover", formerly called the
Bulletin before its head swelled and outgrew that name. There are no fewer than
five color photographs of the new head of school in this issue, including the
cover and an inner two-page spread. There are also many textual references to
our new dear leader, at least four of which contain the full appellation
"Raynard S. Kington, MD. PhD, P'24", some with the title "Dr." being added as
well, lest we not get the point. Presumably the "Dr." reference is to his
medical degree, but in the age of Dr. Jill Biden one can never be sure. The
egotism and narcissism of this man is stunning, not to mention to embarrassing
to those of us of an earlier era who were taught that modesty was a virtue. No
longer, obviously. The issue itself is even more race-obsessed than previous
volumes, if that is possible.
