Presumably advertisers create targeted ads for different demographics. There is
also the element of defensive casting, which I'm sure is rampant. In the metro
DC area, I would estimate the percentages of non-whites in TV commercials and
local TV "news" programming to be 80% or more. Interracial couples are also in
a significant percentage of TV ads here. Hard to know whether that's purposeful
social engineering/influencing having nothing to do with the qualities of the
product advertised, but I suspect that's at least part of it.

The number of black people in advertisements is out of proportion to their
percentage in the population; I would guess 3-6x. Some of this makes sense as
they are a greater percentage of the target market for the product. The rest is
virtue signalling/pandering.

"De-centering whiteness" has taken control of TV advertising in its entirety,
and mostly in the content of TV shows and movies. Blue Bloods is the only show
left on TV where you can see a critical mass of white people. When that show is
cancelled, the desired white-out will be complete.
