There's a lot of truth to this. However, there's an enormous difference between
17trh century England and 21st century America, namely the massive surveillance
and militarized state today, which essentially would render any "civil war" a
pointless and deadly exercise for the insurgents. I was listening this morning
to the Senate Judiciary Committee testimony of the four female gymnasts who
testified chillingly to the FBI essentially ignoring their claims for 15 months
while many more girls were sexually assaulted by Larry Nassar. There were
allegations of corruption as well as gross negligence and worse by the agents
involved. It is shocking that apparently not a single one of the FBI agents
involved in this cover-up has been punished, although we don't know if there
are "please, pretty please with sugar on it, don't do this again or we will
have to whip you with a soggy wet noodle" letters in their files. We already
know about the FBI's participation with DOJ and the intelligence agencies in
the coup attempt against Trump. When is something real going to be done about
this? The senators gave lip service to that this morning but we shall see.
