Thanks Susan and Jules!
Jules, the Indian food was really good but my one, single photo got lost in the
ether. Ah well. As long as we enjoyed (and we did). I hope you enjoyed your
celery sticks! 😉

OMG Vicki, all that looks totally amazing. How beautifully presented too.
Am so jealous. Will have to tell my brother and sister in law to try it.
They might remember what the Edmund Barton Cafe was. I left Canberra for
Fort Lauderdale in August 1977...the week before Elvis died, so no idea what
it was before that.
Belated Happy Birthday Vicki, Feliz Cumpleanos 🎂🍾🍷🥂so thrilled you and Dohn
had a lovely evening. Think Canberra has some great eating spots. Always
did. Think that might have something to do with it being the Capital a bit
like Washington DC.,,got to keep all those politicians happy🤔😜
Dohn’s zucchini flowers look lush, well it all does. You have made me so
hungry with those fab food pics and it is stupid o’clock 0430 yet again every
night not sleeping, so just munched on a few celery sticks 🤔😜
Enjoy your Indian with your net friend...more pics please😜❤️💝

We had such a lovely evening. The venue is just beautiful (Jules, we asked
what it was before they took it over 20 years ago and they said it was the
Edmund Barton Cafe, which was apparently a classy cafe that serviced the
Edmund Barton Building opposite) but whatever, it was gorgeous.
The food was great, the service was excellent, and we had a nice little chat
with the owner (the female half ;-)) who was doing front of house. She was
so jealous of us having a relaxing weekend…
So, the food. Dohn’s entrée:
<Ottoman entrée crispy zucchini flower dolma.jpeg>
ÇÍÇEK DOLMA
crispy zucchini flowers, filled with goat’s feta & halloumi cheese served
with a light lemon yoghurt sauce
My entrée:
<Ottoman entrée eggplant dolma.jpeg>
ZEYTÍNYAGLI SEBZE DOLMA
gourmet eggplant stuffed with rice, pine-nuts, currants, herbs & allspice,
cooked with olive oil
Dohn’s main:
<Ottoman main veal.jpeg>
DANA KüLBASTI
thin slices of veal seasoned with mild Aleppo chili, char-grilled served
with leek & potato skordalia & lemon & mustard sauce
My main:
<Ottoman main kingfish.jpeg>
ŞÍŞ BALIK
Hiramasa king-fish slices, marinated & char-grilled, served with olive oil
braised leeks & baby carrots & lemon dressing
Our shared dessert:

The iPhone did well in the low light!
