Very sad news. I too have recipes of Shane's in my database, I'm sure he
would like knowing he's enriched our lives in this way.

Hello Friends,
For those of you on this list for quite some time, you may want to know that
Shane passed away this week after a valiant fight with heart disease. He was a
strong and brave friend for so many years here, from Texas, offering technical
support and lot of recipes!! Such a kind soul who spoke out often about
injustice and the rights of all. I loved the way he would slip into speaking
French in the middle of a conversation! I never met Shane… and yet I am so
sad at his passing. I have over fifty recipes in my database that he shared
throughout the ozfood list life.
I share a recipe he passed on to us several years ago….

Oma's Applesauce Cake
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon clove
1 cup sweet applesauce
1 cup raisins

Cream butter, sugar, and egg. Add the remaining ingredients; Mix
well. Spread into 9x13 pan. Sprinkle sugar over top, and bake 40
minutes at 350.
