Thirsty Orange tickets are showing 1-6pm, so I guess they changed back to
the regular time of day? In that case, does anybody have a second canopy so
ppl visiting our taps could be shaded? (if we'd be allowed to do that)
My ABC cert expires this month. I'll look into renewing online. Sounds like
it is cheaper and less time-consuming than it used to be in-person.
I haven't seen any info yet regarding pro competition or homebrew.
Hopefully it's a similar setup.

Yay! I really hate that I missed this meeting, but the next one I should
be good to go as I've now had my second vaccination.
Allen thank you so much for being such a wonderful host to the group.
And to echo Steve, stay well and Brew on!

Many thanks to our gracious host, Allen, for the peaceful, creek-side
outdoor porch setting and coal-grilled burgers. He made dinner for us!
Our small gathering (Allen, Bill, Steve, and guest Pete) enjoyed an
evening talking about our latest brews and discoveries. As the only officer
present, I took notes and there is no treasury or membership update. If you
haven't paid dues yet for 2021, please do to help support the club. I'll
forward the info on how to do that in a moment.
Bill brought his 1503 VOA (Very Old Ale), a complex, slightly chocolatey
ale with a mildly sweet lingering finish. Very drinkable. My descriptor was
something like a Scottish Brown Ale.
Allen recently bottled a Pale Ale (Maine Peepers?) and I have a couple of
brews coming down the line that aren't ready yet, so I brought a Pilsner
Urquell that seemed to be in reasonably good shape (dated for September
We oohed and ahhed over Allen's acquisition of the Cowan brew rig and
talked about thermometers (see account of my recent mash debacle in a
recent Milkshake IPA email). Bill recommended "lollipop" thermometer
available on Amazon. I searched and there seem to be several under those
keywords -- can you reply with a link to the one you have, Bill?
Allen even provided an extract IPA kit as a door prize (host of the
year!), which novice brewer Pete took home to see if we can get him started
on the hobby again.
It was nice to be able to visit again in person. Hopefully we'll be able
to do something similar again soon.
Stay well and brew on,

Would someone please take notes?

I plan to bring a friend. He bought someone's homebrew gear a few years
ago, brewed once but had a leaky keg, lost all his CO2, and hasn't tried
again. Didn't know there were homebrew clubs in the area. Let's show him
what it can be like. :)

Our April months meeting is tomorrow night and this will be in person if
you can attend.
Allen Mckenna is our host. The plan is to visit outside on his porch and
here is Allen's invitation:
Come early. stay late. We can cook out, swap stories, discuss water
some more (unless I get motivated to write more between now and then--I've
learned more since my last babble). Bring friends. Cross your fingers,
hope the weather will be as wonderful as today.
Anybody needs directions--call Allen.
