This is what the May 14th action, Break Free Albany is all about.
Laurel
Ready to make climate history in Albany this May?
Friends,
Albany, New York is a major hub for crude oil rolling in by train from
the fracking fields of North Dakota to refineries on the east coast.
*That's why people from all across the Northeast will be in Albany next
month. Next month, we'll be in Albany to "Break Free from Fossil Fuels."*
*Join us on May 14th in Albany, NY to stop these oil trains in their
tracks.

We’re organizing to break free, because we need to make fossil fuels
history -- and to keep fossil fuels in the ground, we need to stop these
trains. Because our health and safety matter, we need to stop these trains.
All across the Northeast, people are fighting new fracked gas projects
-- well fields, pipelines, compressor stations, storage facilities, and
export terminals. At the same time, the Northeast is caught up in the
domestic oil boom: East Coast refineries starting processing domestic
crude oil in 2012, and much of it flows through and around Albany in trains.
These trains are filled with the same highly explosive Bakken crude oil
that leveled half the town of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec in 2013, killing 47
people. In Albany, these toxic "bomb trains" are parked in the back yard
of a low-income housing development, while on the move they threaten
millions of people who live and work along hundreds of miles of rail
corridor.
We are a coalition of communities and organizations across the Northeast
who are ready to come together in an act of mass civil disobedience
against oil trains, fracked gas pipelines, and other fossil fuel
projects -- while standing up for frontline communities like Ezra
Prentice Homes and others in the oil train "blast zone."
*On May 14th we will march to the tracks at the Port of Albany. Many of
us will participate in direct action to stop these trains, and many more
will come to rally and stand in solidarity. **How you participate is up
to you, but we need as many people there as possible.*
*Click here to get more information on the Albany action and sign up to
participate.

Together, we can break free.
Let's do it,
