"warm spring created perfect conditions for the greater butterfly-orchid at
a North Wales nature reserve.

An annual count of the wild flower, which is in decline nationally, at
Plantlife?s Caeau Tan y Bwlch nature reserve at Clynnog near Caernarfon
revealed numbers have more than doubled since last year to 3,495 plants ?
the highest count for 25 years.
a combination of weather conditions and new management practices such as
gorse clearing, bracken control and hay-cutting are thought to have
contributed to its success this year.
The Caeau Tan y Bwlch reserve is jointly managed by Plantlife and the North
Wales Wildlife Trust and is open to the public."
